Sliding-scale fee will no longer be available. Regular fee per session will change to $100. A limited number of discounted sessions will be available for clients paying "out of pocket"; fee per session for clients paying out of pocket will be $40. These changes apply to new clients and past clients only, and will not affect current clients and past clients returning within 1 year. If you have a health insurance policy with mental health coverage, please check with your insurance company about whether services at the Counseling Hut are covered by your policy. We would be happy to bill your insurance company; you will be responsible for any amount that is not covered by your policy. Fees and session length for counseling sessions are negotiable and will be agreed upon before sessions begin. Payments in cash, check, credit card, debit card, and PayPal are accepted and are due at the beginning of each session, unless an insurance company is to be billed. Checks with insufficient funds are assessed a $25 fee. For current clients, this fee schedule remains in effect as long as counseling continues. For returning clients, this fee schedule remains in effect for one year after the last counseling session. As of July 1, 2011, sliding-scale fee sessions are no longer available for new clients. A limited number of introductory fee sessions are available. Introductory fee sessions are available to clients who are referred to the Counseling Hut by another provider or an agency and are given a referral card that specifies the introductory rate and number of sessions. Each client is limited to using one special introductory fee referral card per lifetime. As of April 1, 2009, nominal fee sessions are no longer available for new clients. You may choose to be billed on a calendar month basis if you can provide a proof of address. Late payments are assessed a 1% interest on overdue balance each month. With clients who have outstanding balances for three consecutive billing periods, counselor will discuss whether counseling services may continue. Clients who have outstanding balances for six consecutive billing periods may be referred to a collection agency. Bills will be sent by USPS first class mail. There is no cancellation fee. We would appreciate it if you can give at least 1 hour advanced notice if you need to cancel. If you miss two appointments in a row, your time slot may no longer be reserved for you.
